Jamaican Rodman wins Tobago Classic stage three
Rodman, representing Team PSL, made good use of Thursday’s rest day as he came out with energy to win the Plymouth Criterium yesterday which saw the cyclists pedal for 65km (50 laps) in divison one. Rodman, who won the fourstage Tobago Classic last year, finished ahead of Nick Stopler (second) of the Netherlands and Guyanese Gerron Williams (third) who is representing Team Foundation.
The overall leader heading into today’s final stage is Dutchman Arno Van Der Zwet of Team PSL, while Stopler is second overall and Oscar Pachon (Colombia/Team Cocos) is third.
In division two, Jabari Whiteman continues to lead overall after finishing second in the 20-lap stage three race yesterday. In division three yesterday, De Angelo Harris (TT /Unattached) copped the top spot, Tariq Woods (TT /Team Woods) was second and Dexter Woods (Tobago/Easy Goers) pedalled to third place.
The fourth and final leg today is the Market Square Criterium at Wilson Road in Scarborough. Division one riders will battle over 60 laps/60km, division two over 20 laps/20km and division three/novices will pedal over five laps/5km.
The Tobago International Cycling Classic culminates tomorrow with the gruelling Tour of Tobago main event which will take riders throughout the sister isle.
