Trincity Nationals triumph at Score 4 Cancer Tournament

National captain Maylee Attin- Johnson, fellow midfielder/ striker Kennya “Ya Ya” Cordner and Shanelle Warrick were part of the victorious Trincity team, which walked away with the champions trophy.

Warrick also had reason to be proud on Saturday, as she was named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). She also copped the Golden Boot as the leading goalscorer.

The event was held under the auspices of the Queen’s Park Women’s Football Team, and involved eight teams - Trincity Nationals, Queen’s Park “A”, Queen’s Park “B”, Step by Step, St Augustine FC, Central United, Malvern and Holy Name Convent.

The Queen’s Park Women’s Committee donated the proceeds from Saturday’s contest going to the Children’s Cancer Unit in Mt Hope.

Last year, the proceeds were donated to the St James Clinic Cancer Unit.
