New tropical wave forms
A tropical wave is a strip of low air pressure, pointing north to south and moving westwards, bringing unsettled weather.
The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) in Miami, Florida, said the wave is forming several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands, and is producing a large area of cloudiness and showers.
“Development of this system is not expected during the next few days while it moves westward at 15 miles per hour (mph), but some development could be possible when the wave reaches the southwestern Caribbean Sea early next week,” said the NHC.
“Locally heavy rains and gusty winds are possible in the Windward and southern Leeward Islands during the next couple of days as the wave moves through the area.” As of yesterday the TT Met Office website carried no bulletins about the new tropical wave.
