Murders in Las Lomas

Newsday understands they were standing on the side of the roadway a short distance from Mahaica Junction, when at 9.15 pm, a silver-grey Nissan Cube pulled up near the men. The occupants of the vehicle alighted, approached James and Guillame and opened fire.

James and Guillame ran off in different directions and collapsed.

The gunmen chased after James and when he fell in a nearby yard, they stood over him and shot him several times. The gunmen then escaped by driving off. Residents nearby heard the gunshots and alerted police, who responded and cordoned off the scene.

The scene was visited by officers of Homicide Region Three.

District Medical Officer Dr Thomas Nathaniel ordered the bodies removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James where autopsies were performed yesterday.

The murder toll stands at 350.
