Police must do better too
While we are asked to improve production with no increase or back pay, the two most unproductive areas in this country remain the Judiciary and the Police Service, whose work rate remains almost dormant regardless of huge allocations.
People continue to go missing and crimes remain unsolved and matters in the courts are stalled while the police blame others for their incompetence.
The courts are very lenient with criminals while the Police Service is riddled with crooked cops who, it is believed, may be responsible for many of the unsolved crimes in the country.
A senior police officer said on television that many of the stolen high-end vehicles are shipped to Guyana. Why has this not been investigated and who is preventing it? Will the police solve the murder of Vijay Ramoutar of Palo Seco and his missing vehicle? To whom much is given much is expected and they must understand that in these difficult times they must also increase their productivity and not just by issuing traffic tickets.
