Lesser horses get another chance Saturday
On the eight-race programme there are seven races for horses rated 20 to 60.
But the feature race for horses rated 75-50 could be a very trappy affair and should produce an exciting finish.
There are eight entered in the 1200 metrs sprint headed by 2012 derby winner Free Passage.
Interesting newcomer Single Bullet who had one previous start, holds the engagement along with the much underrated Swept Away.
Others in this feature are Euphemism, Blue Oracle, One Fortheroad, Eye See You and The Tactician. Champion jockey Prayven Badrie and current leader in the title raceRonald “Tiger” Ali will continue their battle. Ali who has 37 winning rides to his credit so far this season, has been booked for seven rides on the day while champion Badrie who has ridden 35 winners to date, has six. Saturday will mark the return of young rider Joshua Stephen who has not been seen for over a year.
On Saturday, Hi5 gamblers will have, apart from the guaranteed $50,000 pool, a target of over $65,000 to aim for.
And those turfites preferring the Superfecta, can collect over $69,000.
