Petrotrin clarifies President’s hiring

A list of 54 persons was compiled which contained 41 applicants who responded to the advertisements and 13 individuals from social media and their other networks, while 41 prescreened resumes were also provided, the company stated. HRC by letter dated October 5, 2015 to the new Petrotrin board provided a short list of ten candidates for the position of president and recommended that searches for the other positions be placed on hold until the position of president is filled.

“The Board conducted interviews of the three (3) candidates selected by HRC Associate of which one was the current Presiden Fitzroy Harewood. His interview was successful and he was appointed as President of Petrotrin with effect from 2015 November 01,” Petrotrin stated. Harewood, a UWI graduate with a BSc Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies along with an MBA from Andrews University, is a former employee of predecessor Trinidad and Tobago Oil Company Limited. His last appointment prior to his employment at Petrotrin was as the General Manager of PowerGen Limited.
