Earlier on Monday, Justice Mira Dean-Armorer judge ruled that the main players in the controversy had not been given the chance to be heard, in breach of natural justice and legitimate expectation.

Scotching contrary speculation of him being abroad, he said he spent recent time in Diego Martin eating doubles by Bobby’s Bar every morning. Hitting his political opponents, he said he was breaking his silence, because now was time to get serious. “You have to understand that the People’s National Movement (PNM) consists of a cult of informers, liars and public servants who will fabricate to get the UNC out of office, to stain our name...call us thief,” he alleged.

“Man who play football, swim for the country, coach for the country, never thief a red cent, they calling thief and they have public servants who will fabricate audit reports so they could ramajay and they could get the prime minister (former prime minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar).” Saying he was the child and sibling of attorneys, he said he knew to stay silent when the court was mulling the case that was yesterday thrown out as null and void.

Listing the achievements of the former government of Persad-Bissessar where “things happening all around” (such as Children’s Life Fund and the baby milk grant), Roberts said that the PNM Government now has the country bordering on being a failed State.

“Kamla Persad-Bissessar was moving on up but they had to bring her down. They couldn’t bring her down with truth, so what did they do? ‘Lie!’,” the crowd shouted.

He explained that LifeSport was for young African youth who were most at risk. “So when you hear them talk disparagingly about $200 million for bandits, these are citizens of TT who need an opportunity to make the right choice.” He said the former People’s Partnership administration didn’t leave those youths to kill out each other but tried to give them a chance to put down the gun and move into productive work, including to the National Energy Skills Centre (NESC). Most of those youth were in areas run by the PNM whom he alleged like to keep people poor and dependent on the PNM.

Saying it is time to rebuild the PP, to beat the PNM in the November 8 Local Government Elections.

Roberts said, “Two thousand, three hundred little black boys shut out of a programme because PNM lie.

Small contractors in each of the 43 areas - for a little catering, a little grass-cutting, a little company, small black entrepreneurs - programme cut, because PNM public servants lie.” He said the 2,300 youth enrolled in LifeSport had in all, some 10,000 dependants, who indirectly benefitted financially from the programme’s stipend to participants.

“You know what the PNM told me in Parliament? That $44 was too much for two meals and that I should have spent $9. That’s what the PNM thinks about human beings!” Speaking later, Opposition Leader Persad-Bissessar hinted that Roberts may return to active politics, possibly as an Opposition Senator.
