Soldier charged for assault on cop

A police report stated that about 9.15 pm on Sunday, Cpls Brian Singh and David Nagassar, who were on mobile patrol, responded to a report of a disturbance at Dave’s Bar, Hermitage Road, Claxton Bay. It is alleged that Gordon intervened while the officers were carrying out their duty during which time Nagassar was assaulted. Gordon was subsequently arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, disorderly behaviour, insulting language and resisting arrest.

Singh and Nagassar laid the charges. He will reappear in court today.
