GOD WILL GIVE HER JUSTICE

Banfield’s mom Sherry Ann Lopez said the celebration of Shannon’s life will take place tomorrow at the San Juan Seventh Day Adventist Church, at Prizgar Road, San Juan.

Flowers are accepted but Lopez urged those who attend the funeral service to ‘please wear Shannon’s favourite colour purple to celebrate her life.’ There will be a private internment at Belgroves Funeral Home at Orange Grove Road, Trincity.

Lopez said it will be a celebration of Shannon’s life. The grieving mother said the loss of her first born was ‘really hard,’ but she and the rest of her family had to sit down to prepare for the funeral service.

“We have to pull ourselves together,” she said in an interview yesterday.

Banfield, 20, went missing on Monday and her body was found in the storeroom of IAM and Company on Charlotte Street, Port-of- Spain on Thursday, just before 2 pm.

Before she went missing, Banfield told her mother she was going to Pennywise and then IAM, both on Charlotte Street.“Imagine it wasn’t a taxi; it wasn’t going out late. She was doing what everyone does at that time of day,” Lopez said.

Banfield’s mom said she was comforted by ‘knowing the kind of girl Shannon was, He (God) will give her justice.’ “Our focus is on celebrating her life. We’re not even thinking about the investigation and all the speculation,” she said.
