Arima RC in U-13 football final

ARIMA BOYS’ RC will defend their National Primary Schools Football Association Under-13 title again. The five-time football princes edged Vos Government 2-1 in extra-time at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, yesterday. And hero of the victory was Kerry Jamerson Jr, son of former-Strike Squad midfielder by the same name. He fired in the winner in the 17th minute of the 20—minute extra period.

Julio Noel gave the Arima teens a dream start, scoring in the first minute of the 60-minute final. Champions in 1995, 97, 99, 2000 and 2003, the Arima youngsters will meet either Moruga AC, winners of the Stern John Football Skills title or Carenage Government the 1994 champions, in this year’s final. Meanwhile, 16 teams will contest the 27th edition of the Jadoo’s Bookstore-sponsored Arima RC inter-school six-a-side football series at the Arima Municipal Stadium today from 9 am. And Scarborough RC from sister-isle Tobago will be among the teams vying for the winner’s prize of $550 and a trophy. Teams from Belmont, Port-of-Spain and other districts throughout the country will be in the mix.
