“We are very pleased to welcome “Outfit International”, a talented soca-parang band housed inside the “special gated community,” Vicki Assevero, founder of the Green Market said.
“Those are the words the Commissioner of Prisons Sterling Stewart uses to describe where his wards live.” Superintendent for Programmes, Charmaine Johnson also expressed her pleasure at the collaborative outreach, “We have been very successfully using music as therapy.
We have watched how playing music together has helped to transform the attitudes of the incarcerated and restore them for the community.” Outfit’s performance will start at 8.15 am and again at 10 am. There will be an opportunity to have a conversation about restorative justice, how it works and its potential for reducing crime.
Denise Aleong, vice president of the Inter American and Caribbean Association of Small Hotels (INCAPH) will kick of the Green Market’s All month the market will focus on different aspects of sustainable tourism and particularly on the linkages among agriculture, local food and crafts and tourism.
