Dookeran receives award from Indian government

The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman is one of the highest honours given to people of Indian origin residing overseas.

Dookeran was the only Caribbean national on the list of 30 individuals from around the globe and previous recipients included two former Prime Ministers, Basdeo Panday and Kamla Persad-Bissessar respectively and former PNM Minister, Dr Lenny Saith.

Dookeran is currently in India where he accepted the award.
