SKIFTT karatekas shine at TTKU tourney

Anamika Toyer, 6, again copped gold in both kata and kumite categories, while her brother, Tristan Toyer attained gold in kumite.

Tyrell Broomes was able to fight off his opponents in the 12 – 13 kumite category to obtain the gold medal, while Shanika Hernandez won gold in her 14 – 15 age group and Kristof West gold in kata in his 16-17 category.

Taking silver in their respective age groups were Aariz Celestine and Tristan Toyer in kata, and Shikira Tehera Jones in kumite.

She also gained bronze in kata as well as Giselle Laronde-West and Shanika Hernandez.

Micah Seecharan and Cindy Guevara brought home bronze in kumite.

The small SKIFTT team left their mark at TTKU’s first national tournament for the year.
