Preysal Phoenix clinch Women’s knockout crown
In the 30-over-perside affair, Preysal Phoenix whipped Technocrats by 24 runs to prevail in the final.
National player Britney Cooper lashed a topscore of 66 and TT and West Indies player Felicia Walters contributed 22 as Preysal Phoenix amassed a score of 171 runs for six wickets in their allotted overs. Samantha Bissoon chipped in with 18, Leandra Ramdeen made 15 and Shenelle Lord 14.
Veteran all-rounder Stacy Ann King took two wickets for 25 runs for Technocrats, while Gaitri Seetahal got 2/33.
King returned with the bat to score 42 while Akeira Peters got 22 and Orie Trotman 21, but Technocrats were only able to reach 147/7 in their response.
Afy Fletcher and Alysha Gomez made 17 apiece for Technocrats, and for Phoenix, Lord claimed 3/30 and Rosemary Samaroo 2/19.
