Khalifa at National Jr Champs this weekend

This event will be staged at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo from 10 am each day.

Double CARIFTA sprint queen Khalifa St Fort is tipped to repeat the feat she accomplished in Curacao, during the Easter weekend, when she triumphed in the girls Under-20 100 metres and 200 metres.

St Fort, the 2016 First Citizens Sports Foundation top female athlete, has identified dipping below 11 seconds as her next goal.

Other 2017 CARIFTA gold medallists who are expected to feature this weekend are boys Under-18 javelin record holder Tyriq Horsford, girls Under-18 shot put ace Ianna Roach and Adell Colthrust (boys Under-18 100m).

Spectators will only have to pay $25 each day to witness the best of the youthful track and field talent in the twin-island republic.

Among the other sponsors at this event are the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SPORTT ), National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB), Puma, Blue Waters, Sagicor General, Flow, Petrotrin and Bmobile.
