New Year greetings from jail

THE EDITOR: My name is Roy and I am presently incarcerated at one of the nation’s penal institutions. My request to you is one coming from a father who is hurting so deeply, because of the fact that it’s the Christmas season and I’m unable to be with my children and wife. In prisons in Trinidad and Tobago, fathers are not allowed to see their children for whatever strange reasons, God is the only one who could answer that question, so my concerns and request to you is, if you can allow my letter to be printed so that my wife and especially my children could know that I still love them and wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

To Paul, Bear and the Angel I love you all and hope that the Lord’s hands may forever be upon you all, and may the precious blood of his son Jesus Christ act as a protective shield against all evil, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. To Mr Hinds we the inmates of the prisons wish you all the best for the Christmas season and want you to be aware there are some of us who have families and in times like these, we look forward to restorative justice, for the present system does nothing but segment family life.
