Father wants justice for son’s killing
The father of 26-year-old business director Randell Bowen, who was shot dead Monday while in a meeting at Montrose, Chaguanas, yesterday called for swift justice for his son’s murder. Kelshall Bowen of Tableland remained baffled yesterday about the reason for the brutal murder of his son. Yesterday, an autopsy by Dr Eastlyn Mcdonald Borris at the Forensic Science Centre revealed that death was due to shock and haemorrhage consistent with one gunshot wound to the head.
Police officers investigating the execution of the Phoenix Company Services Director remained stumped over his death, but felt the killing may be linked to monetary transactions at Phoenix Company. A number of disgruntled investors had complained bitterly about losing their cash after putting money in Phoenix. Investigators believe that a disgruntled investor may have ordered Bowen’s execution. According to reports, Bowen was in a meeting with other directors at Shakeer Plaza in Montrose at around 4.30 pm, when two masked men entered and asked for the driver of a green coloured car. Bowen replied that the car belonged to him. One of the gunmen then ordered Bowen to lie on the ground and shot him in the back of the head. The bullet exited to the front of Bowen’s head.
Yesterday, at the Forensic Science Centre, Kelshall Bowen said his son was an extremely talented person who was interest in doing Japanese animation in the future. He also had plans to get married and settle down. His grieving father pointed out that his son never complained of being threatened, and was not sure why his son was murdered. Yesterday, investigators returned to the scene of the killing and interviewed several persons. The scene was visited by Snr Supt Barnett Mayers and ASP Millette. Bowen’s murder was the fourth in three days. The fifth murder took place on Monday night, when Ashim Alleyne was shot four times at George Street, Port-of-Spain.
