Defence Force top Hockey Veterans tourney

It was a six-a-side format, with a gender mix, and with players over age 35 years old, many whom clearly could give their younger counterparts a run for their money.

The finals saw Defence Force dominate the Parkites 4-nil, with goals from Nicole Aming, Anthony Morales, Kirt Davis and Trent Alleyne. The thirdplace playoff proceeded to a 0-0 draw at the end of regulation time. In the shoot-out, Fatima edged Police 1-0, with the goal coming from Allan Young.

Initially, the Parkites had comfortably topped the preliminary round, followed respectively by Police, Defence Force and Fatima. The two semi-finals saw Queen’s Park beat Fatima, and Defence Force beat Police.
