Guayaguayare roads are the pits

THE EDITOR: Every morning getting up from my bed to come to a place half an hour away from my home on this rough and bumpy road is not what I wanted from a little girl. Just imagine you travelling back and forth on the Guayaguayare Road every day for those who know what I’m speaking about. Think about the taxi and maxi drivers, and even persons travelling in this area to get to work, it is not nice at all, they may be spending more money fixing their vehicles than they earn in a week or even a day’s salary for some.

It is not nice being a driver on this road and have to be going both sides of the road just to dodge some potholes or maybe some pipeline crossing that has been dug up by WASA of all people. These roads need to be fixed immediately for the safety of the travellers and their vehicles. Flooding is another issue that needs to be taken seriously due to improper drainage along some parts of the road. Just think about someone who has never been to Guayaguayare before and is driving at a high speed, and not cautious about the road.

Accidents may happen, no one may die, that’s when we have to be thankful to God. So, to end this article about the roads of Guayaguayare, we the residents of Mayaro and many others are asking the MP of this area Mr Franklin Khan to help the people of this area by upgrading the work on the roads. It would also be nice if he can take a little journey to Guayaguayare.
