TV producer pleads not guilty

A TV6  producer appeared yesterday before a Port-of-Spain magistrate on three charges. Caroline Onicute stood before Magistrate Maureen Gafoor in the Port-of-Spain Third Court and pleaded not guilty to all three charges which were read out to her. The court heard on Wednesday, while in the vicinity of Inde-pendence Square, Onicute assaulted PC Anthony Hoyte in the execution of his duty.

Another charge read that Onicute resisted Hoyte in the execution of his duty. The magistrate also read a charge which stated that Onicute used obscene language to the annoyance of persons on the street. The television producer, who spoke in a strong American accent, pleaded not guilty to all three charges. She was released on her own bail of $1,500. She will reappear on April 27.
