ACP Graham: I am not moving

Assistant Police Commissioner Dennis Graham continued to defy instructions from Police Commissioner Trevor Paul, to proceed on transfer to the Eastern Division. On Monday, ACP Graham refused to handover the office of ACP South/Central to ACP Curtis Lloyd, claiming that he was not officially informed via letter of his transfer. Yesterday, around 12.35 pm, while ACP Graham was attending a meeting at the Crowne Plaza, he was handed a letter by Deputy Commissioner Glen Road.

The letter dated January 7th, stated that Graham was transferred to the Eastern Division to take up duties there from Monday. He was served that letter only yesterday. Graham told Newsday that he informed Deputy Commissioner Roach that he was still not proceeding on transfer. He said that the entire episode regarding his transfer was a breach of the Police Service regulations since he was not given his 14 days notice. He has already spoken to his lawyers, and was advised not to proceed on the transfer since the procedure was breached. ACP Graham pointed out that he was being victimized for doing his job as a police officer, and a senior one at that. He claimed that his transfer to the Eastern Division forms part of the victimisation.

He believes that the letter given to him yesterday was hurriedly prepared and backdated to January 7th. ACP Graham accused Commissioner Paul of disrespecting his office as ACP South. Graham is one of the most qualified police officers in the Police Service and the most qualified in the  executive. He has  11 O-levels, five A-levels, a Second degree, a post graduate diploma in Public Administration, and Human Resource Management and a Masters in History.
