I cry for the children of Biche
THE EDITOR: I refer to Michael Williams’ letter “For the children’s sake” of January 7, and beseech my fellow citizens to re-read its contents for it presents a grave example of social injustice and certainly an absence of love for the people of Biche. If necessary, we must force the little drops of water (sparse letters to the Editor) to form a mighty wave to pressure those in authority to do what we voted them in for and expect from them. My letter has nothing to do with politics, but something else that is more significant, that is what life ought to be about and how we should care for others.
The absence of love, feeling and caring for one another, a commandment given to Moses, happens to be one of the prime causes of violence, crime and racial tension in this blessed country and as a citizen I have to ponder and wonder how they, who say that they care could leave a reasonably built school (though with some minor repairs) to rot for such a long time while leaving innocent little children to trek over 15 miles each day back and forth. I am weak. I feel to cry if not to die. My heart bleeds for these little children who are so innocent. Surely, we can do much better than this with all our resources. Do oil and gas have any value if this is the way we are running the country?
