Three men shot in Diego Martin

THREE Diego Martin men remain warded in stable condition at Port-of-Spain General Hospital after being shot by two gunmen while liming in Diego Martin on Thursday. According to police reports, around 8.25 pm, Akiel Cambridge, 23, of Church Street, Diego Martin; Larry Lynch, 19, of Upper Cemetery Street, Diego Martin and Fealby Cheochules, 39, of Covigne Road, were liming along Covigne Road. As the trio started walking,  two armed men ran up to them and started shooting.


The three attempted to flee from the gunmen but were shot in their legs and backs. The gunmen escaped by running off in the opposite direction. Residents who heard the gunshots, telephoned police who arrived on the scene and found the three victims lying on the road, bleeding from their wounds. They were taken to hospital where they all underwent surgery and remain warded. Police believe the shooting may have been gang-related. A manhunt has now been launched for the gunmen who are known to the police. Cpl Marcelle of West End Police Station is continuing investigations.
