Rain wreak havoc with Carib Sunday League
PERSISTENT overnight and mid-day showers forced the abandonment of all eight Carib Sunday League second round matches yesterday. Grounds were either water-logged or too soggy for pitches to be prepared to allow play. National Cricket League secretary Rambhai Patel said clubs will receive one point each for their abandoned matches. And because of conditions which continue to prevail, there is very little likelihood there will be any play in third round matches today.
The first round scheduled for Sunday last week was postponed to a later date. With three rounds in jeopardy, NCL officials and club representatives will have to meet and decide how teams will qualify for the quarter-finals. Top four teams from both groups are eligible to contest the quarter-finals.
