Leewards, Guyana 2nd day washout
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis: A waterlogged outfield, caused by heavy overnight and morning showers, has caused play to be abandoned without a ball being bowled on the second day of the second round Carib Beer Series cricket match between the Leeward Islands and Guyana at Grove Park, yesterday. At 1.30 pm umpires Vernon Weekes and Terrence Birbal ruled that play yesterday would be impossible, given the state of the outfield. The Leeward Islands had reached 237 for five at the close of the opening day on Friday after electing to bat.
SCORES: LEEWARDS 237/5 — Stuart Williams 92 not out, Wilden Cornwall 72, Runako Morton 33, Trevon Garraway 2/33, Neil McGarrell 2/58.
