‘Acrobatic’ woman scales Atlantic LNG fence

A woman jumped into a catchment pond for a swim after climbing an eight-foot security fence at Atlantic LNG’s Train IV construction site in Point Fortin Thursday evening. Hidden surveillance cameras on the company’s compound captured the woman’s acrobatics which, police said yesterday, resembled a clip out of the new James Bond television film. According to police reports, cameras showed the woman climbing the chain-link fence. When she reached the top of the fence, she crawled through spikes of barbed wire lining the fence. She jumped the fence, then dived straight into the pond.

The company’s catchment ponds, located on the south-western side of the billion-dollar plant, are temporary water storage areas which are used for hydro-testing of LNG tanks. Police said that security guards and construction workers on the site removed the woman from the pond. Bechtel International corporate communications manager, Zyda Mohammed-Jimdar, said the woman was treated at the company’s first aid station. She said the woman was later released into the care of her family.
