CoP meets with managers, juniors
COMMISSIONER of Police Trevor Paul met with middle managers of the Police Service yesterday at his Port-of-Spain office and followed it up with a meeting of juniors at stations in the west. Paul expressed concern about the performance of juniors, especially at nightime when some remain in plainclothes and no one knows who is police, who is in charge room or who is detective. Supervisors were also cautioned about their methods of performance appraisals especially in relation to promotions.
The middle managers, while being warned about not reporting lazy or unbecoming officers, were also told to encourage and look at methods of enhancing the work of the juniors. The CoP will continue meeting with juniors at stations all over the country to speak about enhancing their work and about security for the upcoming Carnival season.
