Murphy’s Law holds court at Santa Rosa

MURPHY’S LAW looked in top shape while breezing on the gallops course at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday morning. The Chester Roberts-trained four-year-old shaped exceptionally well in the spin over 600 metres in preparation for her engagement on the “Friday Evening Lime” programme. She covered the trip in 36.92 seconds to put some respectablity to workouts  on the morning, at which a number of trainers chose to either keep their charges indoors or have them do light exercises.

Lord Arazi and Copy Cat were others to do any gallop of note over the same distance. The maiden Lord Arazi went at a handy clip completing the trip in 38.64 seconds, while trainer Walter Debysingh’s charge went a shade slower in 40.31. Otra Avenida and Woman Of Class continued step-up preparations over 800 metres on the loose sand. The Shaffique Khan-trained pair clocked 50.99 seconds to attaind a “good”  remark in the comments column of the Arima Race Club official clockers report.
