25 ARRESTED
Police recovered more than $100,000 worth of stolen items, a quantity of drugs and arrested 25 persons during raids in Arima yesterday. Among the items, foodstuff, and jewelry recovered by police was a live turkey. They also seized 110 cocaine rocks The raids, which started at 4 am and ended at 2 pm, were conducted at several homes on Temple Street, Arima. The raids were coordinated by ASP Trim and included Insp Bullen, Sgt Garrick, Cpls Jones and Emanuel.
Police believe they made a major break through in solving robberies which occurred in the borough within the past three months. They are calling on persons who reported items stolen to check with them at the station. Police also believe several items were stolen and exchanged for drugs. The recovered items filled an entire room at the station. They will be displayed under two tents today, to allow victims of robberies to identify them.
