Lara Promenade transformed into gigantic picnic park

BRIAN Lara Promenade from Charlotte Street to Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain was literally transformed in to a massive picnic park as scores of people, including foreigners,  chose to remain there instead of going through the hustle and bustle at the more conventional venues. Many armed with coolers,  pots of food, buckets, and sleeping mats; others with the more elaborate tables, umbrellas and bars chose to wait at the Brian Lara Promenade.

From here they had the vantage point of seeing bands before they went to the main uptown, downtown and Queen’s Park Savannah venues. Some opted to take a nap, while others chose to catch up on the gossip they missed while watching the mas from the cool comfort of the shaded promenade. Some revellers even chose the promenade  to rest their weary bodies after being on their feet since early morning, to make adjustments to their costumes, and to meet their families.
