QP, Wanderers in quarters
Queen’s Park and W-Connection Wanderers qualified for the quarter-finals of the Carib Sunday League with victories yesterday in their re-scheduled first round matches. The Parkites defeated Tile It Central Sports by 105 runs at the Oval and moved clear on 14 points. Wanderers pulled off a nail-biting four-run win over Clico Preysal at the Inshan Ali and also went ahead to 14 points in Group “B.” The final seventh and final decisive round will be played today.
Alescon Comet and the Parkites clash at Pierre Road, Charlieville in a key Group “A” match while Tile It Central Sports are up against British American Aranguez at Presentation College, Chaguanas in the other decisive match. Ceramic MerryBoys will take on Las Lomas at their ground while Moosai’s Sports and Defence Force will square off at Honeymoon Park. In the Group “B” battle, FCB Clarke Road will travel to Inshan Ali Park for their crucial tangle with Clico Preysal while joint-defending champions PowerGen Sports will entertain Invaders Sports at Syne Village. Wanderers will be at home to Joe Public Munroe Road at Gilbert Park while Mayo Valley Boys will host Couva Sports at Union Hall.
