Fair weather for Guyana/Windwards
GEORGETOWN: Over the last two weekends, five of eight scheduled days of cricket were lost due to rain but this weekend the weather is expected to hold up for Guyana’s clash against Windward Islands in the penultimate ninth round of the Carib Beer Series at Bourda. The two teams in fourth and fifth positions respectively, should be jostling each other for critical points as they both make a last ditch effort to finish as one of the two top teams to contest the finals.
Guyana remain resolute with their team selection, refusing to make any changes even though Neil McGarrell, their long-time left arm spin weapon is fit again. Injuries and poor form have forced the Windwards to effect four changes, which would lessen their confidence against the Guyanese who are usually rampant on home soil.
