Beware of fast food drivers

THE EDITOR: Some companies take pride in offering the public tasty fast food chicken. No doubt, most of the children of TT would agree. However, managements must also make sure that their drivers do it right on the roads of Trinidad and Tobago. On Friday 14/04/05 at 7 am while coming out of Petit Valley and attempting to merge with the traffic coming over the flyover from the Westmall (sorry, the Falls) area, I had to pull to the left to avoid my car being hit by one of these vehicles (company logo stickers on the door) Registration No PBS 7184 that was obviously driven by a member of their staff.

What was even more disturbing was the look of accomplishment on the driver’s face and that of the passenger (a smirk)! Total disregard for other vehicles! I expect that the individual responsible for the company’s vehicles and their drivers would investigate this incident. Send your drivers to a defensive driving course. Teach them courtesy, discipline and responsibility for the well being of others on the road. Obviously, these traits are not a part of our society anymore! We read every day of the carnage on our roads. Who would compensate the family on the loss of a loved one with a free meal just as they do when a consumer is not satisfied? I have made several attempts to contact this company with no success as their telephone lines were either busy or I was left ‘‘on hold’’ for over five minutes.
