Penalty to Getdjobdone in ‘Dash’

CONNECTIONS of three-year-old American-bred colt Getdjobdone paid a $4,400 penalty for him to race in the feature Santa Rosa Dash at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on April 30. This speedy son of Louis Quartorze/In Or Out won both his starts to date in good style. But the Junior Sammy-owned and Jack Debideen-trained colt was discovered to have had a breathing problem which needed corrective surgery, but has been galloping with authority since and apparently made a full recovery. When third and final subscriptions closed on Monday, connections paid the $300 for ten horses to line up for the 1200 metres race.

Getdjobdone will face champion Sugar Mike and other top class sprinters Rebel Music, Cash Wager, Fabulous Risk and Invincibility. Another ten horses had $300 third and final subscription paid for the Gleneagle Stakes or Fillies Guineas over 1800 metres, down from the 16 at the second subscription stage. Withdrawing were Eye Candy, Joy, Miss Ricky P, Ms Independent, Priceless Fame and Sequin. Meanwhile, Crown Point showed he is rounding into his best form for his next engagement with a good run over 1000 metres in company with 2Sharp in one minute 02.52 seconds at Santa Rosa Park, yesterday morning. And Miss Lover Lover who is engaged in the Santa Rosa Dash, showed some sparkle over the same distance in a shade slower — one minute 02.70 seconds.

Eye Candy who ducked out of the Fillies Guineas and Priceless Fame stepped 600 metres in the good time of 37.24 seconds. But for the rest of the morning trainers decided to give their charges pace work, since racing has a holiday this weekend.
