Power to make a difference
THE EDITOR: I am swiftly moved to commend Republic Bank for having selected five major secondary schools of the country to have their forms five and six classrooms and teaching facilities refurbished and upgraded. When we give thought to Republic Bank’s “Power to Make a Difference Programme” and its commitment of $40 million to alleviation of poverty, education, sport and entrepreneurship over a period of five years, we can infer the great intrinsic significance the Bank places on education.
The bank reminds me of an american philosopher — H Spencer Lewis who said that: “A man without education is like a boat in the sea without any sail just drifting aimlessly.” I will be remiss if I did not also compliment the Tunapuna branch of the FCB under the managership of Mr Vishnu Gajadhar who awarded two students $5000.00 each to assist in the pursuit of their first degrees. Congrats to the students also because they fulfilled specific criteria set by the bank.
