Barnes launches ‘Total Football’

EX-ENGLAND football great John Barnes officially launched the new season of the weekly local football programme Total Football at the Trotters’ Sports Bar, Maraval Road, Port-of- Spain on Tuesday night.

Barnes, who had an outstanding career at club level (Watford and Liverpool) and internationally, during the 1980s and 1990s, made it clear that a collective effort is needed for football in Trinidad and Tobago to rise.

And, on the short-term basis, all the major stakeholders in the local game must come together to ensure that the ‘Journey to Germany 2006’ World Cup campaign is a success.

Also speaking at Tuesday’s ceremony were Sports Minister Roger Boynes and football administrator Keith Look Loy, who also serves as host of the programme.
