Tobago football kicks off May 29

ST CLAIR’S Coaching School, three-time winners, will begin defence of the Warner’s Group of Companies Tobago Football Association (TFA) Premier League title on May 29. Last season, Coaching School became the first ever double crown champions, adding the Pepsi FA Cup to the league title. According to league secretary Everton Alfred, the new season will kick off  with two matches, a Tobago XI taking on a St Vincent squad and the feature which will pit the lads from the sister isle against their Trinidad counterparts. As a result, the TFA have called up 32 players to undergo training sessions including last season’s leading goal-scorer Duane Murray and runner-up Keon Daniel, a national under-20 midfielder/striker. Training sessions are expected to begin from tomorrow.


Here are the players called up: Tyronne Brown, Victor Thomas, Jeffrey Dopwell (goalkeepers); Kenton Robley, Kevin Murphy, Makesi Jackson, Tyronne Walters, Warren Phillips, Chad Sandy; Tyronne McPherson, Trevor Henry; Jevon Carrington; Kirwyn Small; Shawn Job (defenders); Keon Daniel, Devon Leacock, Kerron Phillips, Masimba George, Kevin Keith, Darron Williams, Kirby Spencer, Kayode Legall, Densyl James (midfielders); Curtis Job, Michael Carrington, Duane Murray, Dominique Kerr, Dyke Reid, Kwesi Beckles, Garth Woodley, Sean Christmas (strikers).
