It could be a Fantastic Story

THE field in the feature Stakes and Lower Handicap today, Fans Appreciation Day at Santa Rosa Park, Arima,  has only five horses. But this 1600 metres race on the turf course looks sure to provide turfites with a thrilling finish. At the end of it however, the top weights Fantastic Story and Outswinger should be at the head of their rivals. The other race of great interest to turfites is the 1750 metres event for three-year-old horses nominated for the forthcoming triple crown. Three with outstanding chances are among the six holding the engagement, but the vastly improved Prince Charming is expected to lead them home with Crown Point picking up the second share of the purse.

The day on which fans will receive several give aways, and with a novel Grooms Derby, will begin from 12.30 pm with a brain-twister. Finding the winner of their 1100 metres event on the turf will not be easy, but turfites are advised to wager on Beautiful Mind to win it. The biggest headache facing turfites, however, comes in the seventh race for imported three-year-old and over maidens over 1100 metres. This promises to be a Charge of the Light Brigade, with fleetfooted Celebrit Jet, Fearless Angel, Soundsgoodtume, Florida Fame, Miss Julie, Marcie’s Dreamer, Seedeeourr and Royal Dame all entered. Turfites are urged to stay with Miss Julie in this, with Soundsgoodtume, Celebrity Jet and Royal Dame her biggest dangers.
