Hats off to constable Trim
THE EDITOR: He can be seen from some 15 to 20 feet away as you approach the intersection of South Quay and Broadway. He is always in motion, always in control, almost always dripping beads of perspiration because of the energy he exerts. On the morning of May 3, 2005 at approximately 7.15 am on approaching the intersection from the west along South Quay I came to a stop just opposite the Diego Martin Taxi Stand, there are three cars ahead of mine. Whenever this officer is on traffic duty I take notice, not because I’m looking for a companion but because he commands your attention. It is refreshing, even entertaining to observe one so passionate about performing his duty. I know I’m not the only one who stops and takes special note of this ‘Master at Work’. I attempted to see his badge number but could not. On my way to work I asked another officer on Independence Square if he would kindly give me the officer’s name. "An energetic young man", he said, "I believe that’s Constable Trim". Hats off to you Constable Trim! I applaud you, keep up the good work. This intersection is a very busy one and when there is no police presence, there is also a lack of judgment and consideration demonstrated by motorists and pedestrians alike. I appreciate all the officers who direct traffic at this intersection however Constable Trim’s execution of his duties is highly commendable. The energy, the pride and passion that emanates from him as he commands both vehicular and pedestrian traffic are remarkable. If this is any indication of how Constable Trim approaches life, I have no doubt he will achieve greatness. Know that there are citizens who notice and appreciate your service. DONNA COLLIS
