Beenhakker selects 10 home-based players

NATIONAL Senior Team coach Leo Beenhakker has selected ten home-based professionals to be part of a 25-man squad for next week’s live-in training camp ahead of the game with Peru club champions Alianza Lima. The squad will begin training Monday at the Larry Gomes Stadium and will close with the match before the squad breaks again before another camp the following week to coincide with the friendly international against El Salvador on May 25.

The game against Alianza will be played at 6.30pm on May 18 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium as part of the build up for the June 4 World Cup qualifier against Panama at the same venue. A notable return to the squad is Defence Force defender Anton Pierre who Beenhakker omitted from the previous camp but noted that the door was not closed on the player. Some of the locals in the team include Atiba Charles, Arnold Dwarika and Densill Theobald with veteran midfielder Angus Eve being left out.

Training Squad: Clayton Ince, Daurance Williams, Jan Michael Williams, Anton Pierre, Arnold Dwarika, Chris Birchall, David Nakhid, Gary Glasgow, Hector Sam, Cornell Glen, Carlos Edwards, Atiba Charles, Aurtis Whitley, Dennis Lawrence, Leslie Fitzpatrick, Avery John, Marlon Rojas, Glenton Wolfe, Anthony Wolfe, Derek Phillips, Densill Theobald, Kenwyne Jones, Brent Rahim, Stern John and Dwight Yorke.
