Curepe keep lead in zonal cricket

CUREPE Sports managed only a draw with Police, but still lead the North Zone in the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Paramount Trading & Transport Ltd-sponsored Zonal Super League series. Police were bowled out for 91 in their first innings and Curepe replied with 310. But the lawmen held on at 309 for nine wickets in their second innings. Queen’s Park were the only team to score an outright victory in the latest round, beating Wanderers by nine wickets. The Parkites rattled up 231 for seven declared and bowled out Wonderers for 133, and batting a second time they managed 136.


Queen’s Park reached 40 for one wicket in their second innings to complete the victory and are now eight points behind the leaders. In the Central Zone, the match between leaders Endeavour and Exchange ended in a draw. Exchange eked out a two-run first innings lead to gain the points but are still 26 points behind Endeavour. And Cosmos took first innings points from South Zone leaders Valiants in their game. Valiants totalled 220, but Cosmos reached 265 in their reply, and crept to within one point of second placed Guayaguayare and four back of the leaders.
