Another day in ‘paradise’
THE EDITOR: As I wake from my night’s sleep, I hear the chirps and whistles of birds, I smell the vapour of the dew from the heat of the rising sun and I look forward to another day in paradise. The electricity, water, phone are fine and I know that the drive to work will be a breeze. My home is safe and secure, my car runs smoothly on our excellent roads. If I were to have an accident, I know that I will be well taken care of by our health services. My work is rewarding and I am able to save at least 20 percent of my salary for my future family. All in life is great, I have complete faith in the government and all comparisons with other countries show that we are doing the best that we can per capita. I have a very productive day and pay my taxes happily. I am able to have an occasional after-work drink and meal. I get back home, all safe and secure; electricity, water and phone are fine. I use my superb internet connection to catch up on some work and social contact. What a great day, looking forward to a sound, restful sleep and another day in paradise tomorrow. L LUTCHMAN
