Buy one-way ticket back to India — I’ll help

THE EDITOR: This issue will not go away. For too long the mixed-race portion of the population has been invisible, not anymore. We thank Dr Sieusarran for "bringing" us into the society, thank you ma’am.

This group is likened to a child who "overnight" has blossomed into a woman and no one noticed, very soon the mixed race group will outnumber both the major racial groups, and we will be heard! The mixed-raced group is true-blooded Trinidadian (we have no hyphens) unlike Dr Sieusarran who is East Indian (does not even bother to say Trinidadian-Indian) and who feels that she and people of her ilk are guests here.

Usually guests leave after a while and this is what I am reminding Dr Sieusarran. Please, if you are a guest do not let your host have to ask you to leave. You have a home somewhere in India and it has been empty for many years. You have relatives and friends awaiting you back in your village and they have not seen you for a long while.

For many, many years it was difficult to return, you were referred to as outcasts, but the government of India has heard the cries of its people and they have now remedied that closed door situation.

It is public knowledge that for a small fee of, I think, US$1,000 you can get a dual-citizenship residential status for 20 years. All you need to do is pack your stuff and purchase a one-way ticket. This applies to you and people of like mind. You all can start a repatriation fund (I will donate most generously at least a "blues" to assist those who are unable to afford the airfare. But I am almost certain that you can make a charter-flight arrangement with BWIA and AIR-INDIA and certainly the airfare will be cheaper.

Alternatively, you can use a boat, go back the way your ancestors came. Of course it will be more comfortable and the journey will be shorter. You Dr Elizabeth, just the vessel is about to dock, can do like Kate Winslet in the movie the Titanic and be the "masthead" standing with the wind blowing in your straight hair smiling with joy and happiness at your good fortune of being able to return home.

Your leader Sat, has said that he has visited India many times but he does not want to stay.

He prefers not to commit to being either a Trindiadian or an East Indian. You and many like you, and the entire GOPIO can leave him behind, maybe when he looks around and finds himself being the only East Indian among all these mixed-race, he will eventually fall in line.

The political leader of the UNC the "Indian" Party, never mind (Indians have a nasty name for people like Jack Warner and Gypsy, Griffith, Lasse (besides rawan)) you get my drift, but as I was saying Mr Panday has said that "dey want all yuh to leave, but here is where you were born and yuh should not leave" or words to that effect. Well he will never be a Prime Minister of India, and he wants you all to remain here so that you will vote him back into power, that’s the only reason that self-centred gentleman will ask you to give up your journey home. The life at that St Ann’s house is like a drug, once you have had a taste, you cannot easily give it up, ent yuh know, Oma?

So start your list, the Maha Sabha will be a good place to start, and do feel free to include Dianne Seukeran on your list.

She too, is Presbyterian, but boasts about her pure Brahmin bloodline. Trust me, you will get support for your movement.

As a motivation, think about living with your own kind, with the same religion, the same culture, you will not have to worry about seeing all up in your face the product of the mixing of the races.

It is strange though, that so far, very few people have taken up this offer by the Indian Government.

One would have thought there would have been long lines outside the Indian High Commission.

Instead, they are heading in droves to the USA and "safe" Canada. Mr Manohar, I hope you took the Canadian police to task for not knowing, and preventing your niece from being murdered. If that had happened here, you would have cried "murder" (pardon the pun) this PNM Government killed my niece, because they failed to prevent it. Of course it may well be that Dr Sieusarran and her kind were taught that the natural "order" of status is: White people are first, Indian people are second and African people are last. This second-class status is perfectly acceptable to you and your kind, hence you do not have a problem rushing to countries which are governed by white people — but it is against the Indian way of life, to be "ruled" governed by people beneath you such as an African.

But African people like the mixed group are not going anywhere — we are here for keeps. You all have taken to referring to them as African, but using that terminology is the same as European.

There are several independent countries with their own language/history/customs which make up Europe and it is the same for Africa, unlike India which is governed by one government.

Kindly publish the bank account when it is opened, so that contributions can come in, just remember the money is to purchase airfare tickets one-way to home to India. In addition to the contribution method, there are also curry-ques. Happy journey to Nirvana.
