Don’t leave out Man Of Class

THAT Stud Farm Association National Stakes feature on Monday, Labour Day, on Day 18 of the Arima Race Club season at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, is shaping up to be a turfite’s nightmare. At Santa Rosa yesterday morning, Man Of Class showed he cannot be left out of the reckoning with a sparkling gallop over 800 metres clocked in a good 49.27 seconds. And Mucho Tempo, one of four Derby winners holding the engagement stepped lively over 600 metres in 37.26 seconds.

Added to this, triple crown winner Top Of The Class   had a handy spin over 800 metres completed in 52.09 seconds and looked very keen going through his paces. Others in the seven-horse field for the $60,000 race over 1800 metres, Chief Commander and Millenium Reign were seen doing pace work. The John O’Brien’s Derby winner Millenium Reign went over 400 metres in 29.48 seconds, while Chief Commander had a very handy gallop over 600 metres completed in 40.68 seconds.

Meanwhile, Lauralee-Inflight had a handy run over 600 metres in 39.66 seconds as she prepared for the three-year-old maidens sprint over 1100 metres on the turf course. And Music Man, also from the Walter Debysingh stables relished the sloppy going to register a clocking of one minute 03.20 seconds for a 1000 metres run.
