WI ‘A’, Sri Lanka in decider

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka: Both Sri Lanka ‘A’ and West Indies ‘A’ have undergone dramatic changes to their line-ups for their third and deciding unofficial "Test" that opens today at the Saravanamuttu Stadium.

The series is level at 1-1, after the West Indies reserves won the first "Test" by 57 runs, but lost the second by an innings and 16 runs. With several of the West Indies ‘A’ Team’s original tour party joining the senior Test squad, Tishan Maraj, Lendl Simmons, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Darren Sammy, Kenroy Peters, Richard Kelly and Jean Paul were all flown to the resplendent island as replacements. They will come into contention for a place in the side for the match that still promises to be exciting, particularly if the West Indies reserves can play with the same level of intensity shown by the previous side.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ have strengthened their side by including Test player Tillakaratne Dilshan and Farveez Maharoof.

These two, as well as spin bowler Suraj Mohamed are likely to replace batsmen Michael Vandort and Malintha Gajanayake along with all-rounder Gayan Wijekoon.
