No ransom demand from kidnappers yet
The kidnappers of real estate agent, Gerald Gopaul, contacted the family on Saturday night but did not make a ransom demand according to reliabe sources. Newsday understands that the kidnappers told the family that they would call again today to make their demands. However, some of Gopaul’s relatives yesterday said that the kidnappers did not contact them.
Gopaul, 52, of Papourie Road, Diamond Village, San Fernando, was abducted about 7.45 pm on Friday. Reports stated that he was liming at Diamond Recreation Bar, a short distance away from his home, when four men armed with guns stormed into the business place. Two of the men reportedly grabbed Gopaul and dragged him out of the building. He was bundled into a silver B-14 Sentra which sped off. Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad are continuing investigations.
