Gordon speaks on ‘fairness’
CENTRE POINTE Mall, Chaguanas, will be the venue for the 49th edition of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board prize distribution on July 24. And West Indies Cricket Board president-to-be Ken Gordon will deliver the main address on the "Principles of Fairness" at the function. Gordon, a founder of the Non-Goverment Organisation (NGO) will stress to the cricketers to inculcate the values of honesty, equality and intergrity in their daily activities, according to TTCB chief executive officer Alloy Lequay. At the function, this year’s Five Cricketers of the Year, both senior and junior will be announced along with the Club of theYear and Administrator of the Year. Meanwhile, the TTCB will host a panel discussion and the board’s third strategic plan with special reference to zonal organisation and management and club development on July 30 and 31. Venue for the conference is the Preysal High School, Preysal Village. TTCB president Ellis Lewis will present the plan, and officers, executive and committee members and special invitees will present papers on various aspects of development and management. Sports Minister Roger Boynes has been invited to formally open the two-day discussion, while Sports Company chairman Ken Butcher is expected to address the opening. Later, zonal clubs will be asked to submit development plans for the executive approval and funding. A similar conference, this time for national and zonal Super League clubs is planned for September.
