A surprise party for Eulalie
A surprise party was thrown for Junior Community Development Minister, Eulalie James, at her St John’s Street home in Laventille yesterday. James returned from the Circa Garcia Hospital in Cuba where she spent two months. She had her right leg amputated, from the knee down, after falling ill from a diabetic wound infection a few months ago. Culture Minister Joan Yuille- Williams, representatives from Community Development and Gender Affairs, Best Village, relatives and neighbours greeted James warmly with hugs and kisses. "They surprised me!" she told Newsday. James said everything "went well’’ and she will continue her duties as a Member of Parliament."Though I have to master these crutches," she added. The Picton Folk and the North West Laventille performers showed their love and appreciation with dance. "We are all happy she is home safely," said Williams.
