Cocaine found in dead man’s belly
POLICE are investigating a report that a man died at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital after ingesting cocaine. According to reports, several friends took Brent Williams, 34, of Straker Village, Picton Road, Laventille, to the hospital at 2.30 am on June 26. They said he had suffered an epileptic fit. He was treated and warded, but Williams died two hours later. His body was taken to the mortuary, but no one ever returned to identify him. Dr Janet Charles performed an autopsy yesterday during which she found 74 cocaine pellets in Williams’ stomach. Williams died after one of the pellets burst in his stomach. Hospital authorities called in the Belmont police who are continuing investigations. The cocaine was valued at $200,000.
